Dear Children of Medjugorje, Praised be Jesus and Mary!

1. On October 2, 2012, Mirjana received her monthly apparition at the Blue Cross, in the midst of a large crowd. After the apparition, she gave the following message::

Dear children! I am calling you and am coming among you because I need you. I need apostles with a pure heart. I am praying, and you should also pray, that the Holy Spirit may enable and lead you, that He may illuminate you and fill you with love and humility. Pray that He may fill you with grace and mercy. Only then will you understand me, my children. Only then will you understand my pain because of those who have not come to know the love of God. Then you will be able to help me. You will be my light-bearers of God's love. You will illuminate the way for those who have been given eyes but do not want to see. I desire for all of my children to see my Son. I desire for all of my children to experience His Kingdom. Again I call you and implore you to pray for those whom my Son has called. Thank you.

2. To Jesus through Mary. Janet, an Irish pilgrim full of joy, told me her story:
"I was a cradle Catholic. I went to Mass every Sunday, but only out of habit. My husband was not a Catholic - in fact he was a Hindu, but we both decided that we wanted to bring our three children up as Catholics, that is, I always took them to Mass on Sundays and sent them to Catholic schools, etc. I thought that this was all I was obliged to do. I never prayed with them or taught them about God! The reality was that I was practicing my faith superficially, not living it with my heart. In addition to this, a Christian man told me that Jesus is not present in the host, and that to believe in the real presence was ridiculous, so I ended up doubting. During Mass I was thinking of everything but God and was looking forward to the end because I was bored.

"I have a very good friend who had often been to Medjugorje. She kept pleading with me, 'Come with me to Medjugorje!' Finally despite great protest in my heart, I said yes. We were a group of six friends. As far as I was concerned, I was going for a girly week in the sun, to enjoy nature, and lots of chatting amongst friends. I didn't think prayer would be on my agenda. It was May 1997.
"The first days went as planned. I enjoyed the food, fresh air, sunshine and even going to daily Mass. I thought, 'This is good!' On the third day we went off with John, our Irish guide, in an old ratty van to a Mass being celebrated by Fr. Jozo at Siroki-Brijeg, where 30 Franciscan priests were martyred during World War II. It was a huge church that filled up quickly as I remained outside in the sunshine, chatting with friends. Mass was about to begin and the church was packed. All the benches were full and the isles so crowded that it was impossible to move. It was then that the most surprising thing happened!

"A man, whom I had never met before, took my hand very gently and walked me through the crowds. I didn't feel as though we were pushing; it was as if the space opened up and we walked gently through. He took me to the altar steps and placed me right in front of the priest who was about to start the Mass. Then he suddenly disappeared. I had the best spot there! I had a most surreal but calm feeling, as though it was all normal.
"I remember nothing of the Mass until the priest elevated the Host at the Consecration. The Host became huge to my eyes and Christ our Lord appeared alive in the Host. He was looking up. From that moment on, my whole life changed. I probably never stopped crying for the time I remained in Medjugorje.

"When I returned home, I got into the habit of going to daily Mass. I drew all my strength and my joy from there. Jesus became my essential food. My Hindu husband listened respectfully to my testimony, and in spite of the great change which had taken place in me, he did not seem shaken. Moreover, I have never tried to convince him to share my faith, and equally he has allowed me to practice my faith freely. I prayed a lot for him. Several years later, as I was getting ready to go to Mass one day, he simply said to me, 'I am coming with you!'To make a long story short, he is now a baptized Catholic and we are united in the same faith.

"I wish so often that I could start my life again, so that I could spend all my younger years with Jesus! How I regret losing time and how ashamed I am that I didn't always believe! But now, I do not let a single day go by without thanking God for revealing Himself to me. I pray daily for lukewarm Catholics! That Mary our Mother may touch many, many souls and bring them to the living Jesus!"

Let me add that seeing the joy that radiates from Janet told me more about Jesus than her conversion story!

3. The Year of the Faith has begun. What a beautiful inspiration on the part of our Pope! Considering the spiritual confusion in today's world and people's thirst of solid truth, it is a matter of urgency that we discover anew the true foundations of our faith!

The Blessed Mother invites us "to have a strong faith". Why is our faith so important? People often say, "I believe, but I do not practice". (See PS 1). People are just confusing faith with knowledge. If I know that God exists, OK it is already a good thought, but that does not make me a believer! The demons, as Angels, also know that God exists. A Satanist recognizes if a host is consecrated or not, none of them doubt the real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. In the Bible, the Hebrew word for FAITH, Emouna, means adhesion. (The word 'Amen' comes from it). If I say, "I believe in Jesus" (ani maamin), it means that I adhere to Jesus. He and I are inseparable. I am completely connected. I am one thing with Him, I am with Him wherever He is, wherever He goes. I adhere to His Word, I live the Gospel, and I do what He says. In a word, I am ONE with Him. I cannot believe in Jesus and not seek to live the Gospel; this would mean separating Jesus from His Word. Impossible, He is the Living Word! (See PS2).

The invitation of Benedict XVI is a magnificent mainstay for all of us, especially in the midst of the trial of faith that the Church is going through in many of its members. Let us follow the inspired instructions of the Holy Father, and we will escape the relativism which wears us down. We will be spared from the wave of the New Age that wants to plunge us into the illusion of a la carte beliefs, disconnected from the Incarnation and from the person of Christ.

In Medjugorje Mary is reconnecting us! Pilgrims express their spiritual search, they ask fundamental questions about faith because they hear all kinds of versions and they are confused. The Catechism of the Catholic Church is still not read in every home! (An indispensable book for the Year of Faith!) I noticed that often, I need only to tell people "Our Lady says..." for them to be intimately reassured and willing to adopt a particular point of the faith of the Church. For example, the New Age teaches the possibility of reincarnation after death. Some Catholics have ended up adhering to this belief, even though it is contrary to the teachings of the Church. In Medjugorje Mary has been very clear, reiterating Church teaching: "Reincarnation does not exist," she said to Vicka, "Because after death there is Eternity. It is wrong to teach people that one can be born several times on earth."

Let us thank our dear Gospa for coming to reaffirm our faith! It is with her that we want to live this Year of Faith! She tirelessly offers us her Son Jesus so that we may adhere to Him. She says, "Without Him, dear children, you have neither peace, nor joy, nor future, nor eternal life." (See PS3).

4. I just came back from a double mission visiting 9 cities in Spain and 4 cities in Italy. What a deep consolation for me to see all these hearts welcoming the messages so warmly! Many other cities are asking for us, because Heaven has prepared the hearts, but workers are too few for the harvest. Thousands of hearts would be ready to adhere to Christ, but they rarely meet witnesses. Are they going to keep wandering in the night of this world without Jesus? Witnesses are wanted! The Church won't make it without true believers!

When one discovers the Living God in his heart, he realizes the immense beauty, the splendor of Christianity, and he wonders how he could have lived before without the beauty, the divine life that transcends the limits of the visible world. The beautiful statements of belief in our faith are what the human heart is deeply yearning for because they teach us that each person is created in the image of God, by God and for God. Is there one saint that ever regretted having adhered to the Church and Christ with all his heart?

5. On October 22, we will celebrate the feast of Blessed John Paul II. From where he is today, he continues his mission, especially with the youth, so that they find a meaning for their life and put Jesus in the 1st place. I am sure he is still preparing beautiful miracles of conversions, healings, and liberations... Let's not miss his blessing on that day!

On November 1st, we will celebrate All Saints. The Gospa invites us to read their lives and take them as examples. So why not, on these days, take some time with the family and watch a DVD or listen to a CD about the life of a saint? It is so uplifting! (See PS4, Ralph's CDs)

Dearest Gospa, you are the 'believer' par excellence, you were not afraid to stand for your Son Jesus. Please grant us your boldnessand humility to reveal His light to those who do not enjoy the happiness of knowing Him yet!

Renewal of Baptismal Promises:

I, (name), who through the tender mercy of the Eternal Father was privileged to be baptized "in the name of the Lord Jesus" (Acts 19, 5) and thus to share in the dignity of his divine Sonship, wish now in the presence of this same loving Father and of his only-begotten Son to renew in all sincerity the promises I solemnly made at the time of my holy Baptism.

I, therefore, now do once again renounce Satan; I renounce all his works; I renounce all his allurements.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was born into this world and who suffered and died for my sins and rose again. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.

Having been buried with Christ unto death and raised up with him unto a new life, I promise to live no longer for myself or for that world which is the enemy of God but for him who died for me and rose again, serving God, my heavenly Father, faithfully and unto death in the holy Catholic Church.

Taught by our Savior's command and formed by the word of God, I now dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
